A Fun Day at Sea

-
Waking to the stillness of the rising sun, it seemed we had the ship to ourselves.  It is wonderful to have a balcony in which to enjoy the scenery without the hustle bustle of the guests and deck hands scurring on board. We captured a cabana on the sundeck and enjoyed a delicious breakfast whilst taking in the sea air.  Careful not to sunburn our first few days, we adorned our heads with shade providing stylish hats.  Finally, I was learning to relax and found myself nodding off to sleep lost in the sound of the waves hitting the ship.
A few hours later, we found our way to the buffet and enjoyed a light lunch.  It's wonderful to have a free flow of food at our disposal.  It is not surprising to hear of people gaining 5 pounds while cruising.  The food is always available and it is delicious!

I spent the next few hours in the casino and actually won $420! Of course, I got greedy thinking I might be on a winning streak, only to find myself putting it all back into the machine.  Easy come......easy go.  John and Jeanne faithfully exercised on the track each morning.  I walked 3 miles the first day and became bored with the routine.  An achilles injury prevented Guy from partaking in the regime after his first 4 mile run.

Not to worry though, there was an abudance of activities available and our first two days at sea seemed to fly by.

Our second night at sea was formal night and it was fun to see everyone all dressed up in preparation for dinner with the Captain.  We sent  Joseph and Allyson back to the dining hall while the adults headed to The Steak House for some fine dining.

 The food was beyond delicious

and we were entertained by a magician who was amazing.

Enjoying the night, we headed to the theater for more entertainment provided by the cruise director and then to the lounge for one of the funniest commedians I have ever heard.  We laughed so much our smiles began to hurt!

With bellies full and hearts content, we headed to our cabin for some rest in anticipation for our first port of call in the morning!  Each night our bed was turned down with chocolates placed on our pillows and a towel arrangement of the curious type.  Tonight we had a monkey hanging from the ceiling!
